Freight indexes showed a second weekly decline on Shanghai–North Europe routes. Importers of furniture and electronics welcomed the relief after months of elevated costs.

Carriers cautioned that peak-season demand could still tighten space. Insurance and security surcharges continue on selected corridors.

Retail planners said lower spot rates will not instantly change shelf prices already locked in for autumn ranges.
